A Visitor ID test thatyou can trust

When you run the test, we collect information such as your browser user agent and IP address. This is supplied to de-anonymization services as an input. The email that you give us is used for sending you the test results and to measure accuracy of results as explained in the FAQ below about work email.

We will aggregate the data from all anonymized test results to generate benchmark reports. These reports will measure the coverage and accuracy of de-anonymization services and maybe shared publicly. You can opt in to getting this report when you submit your email for the test above.

We will NOT share your data with any third-party or incorporate it in our own product (Syft).

We believe this "Self ID" test is one of the best ways to objectively measure the coverage and accuracy of de-anonymization services. As a provider of a similar service, we believe that it should be easy for customers to evaluate such services without signing contracts. It might take upto 5-10 minutes. Most services de-anonymize instantly but some might take a few minutes. Once we gather all the results, we generate a report and email you the results.

The test page load scripts from de-anonymization services. Ad blockers can prevent such scripts from loading in your browser and affect the results. These scripts might also require setting cookies so we recommend enabling third-party cookies as well (Chrome, Safari).

We need a work email primarily to assess the accuracy of the results and generate the benchmark data. For example, say you run the test and supply you@example.com as your email. A service that identifies you as an employee at example.com will be marked as "correct" in our dataset.

You can sign up to receive a benchmark report generated from this dataset by toggling the option on the email form above. We DO NOT share your your email with anyone including de-anonymization services. It is NOT used in the test and does NOT influence the test results.
